The Feast of the Ascension of the Lord – Heroes’ Day 2024
On the occasion of the celebration of the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord – Heroes’ Day, on June 13, 2024, the “General Ștefan Gușă” Foundation, with the support and collaboration of the Buzău Prefecture and the Buzău Military Garrison, organized a military and religious ceremony with wreath-laying at the monument of General Ștefan Gușă and the monument of the Heroes of the village at the Church of Satul Spătaru, founded by General Ștefan Gușă.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Prefecture, the Buzău County Council, the Costești Local Council, the Buzău Garrison, and other local institutions.
The Coronita ensemble, supported by the General Ștefan Gușă Foundation, presented an artistic performance.

The festival took place in the Spătaru Forest, in the municipality of Costeşti. Approximately 250 students performed dances and songs on a stage set up in the forest. During the judging breaks, renowned artists from Buzău County performed on stage to delight the audience. The festival was sponsored by the Ştefan Guşă General Foundation.

The children of the Coroniţa musical group participated in the commemoration of General Ştefan Guşă. They recited a poem written by the general and sang patriotic songs.
At the end, they were awarded with packages donated by the General Ştefan Guşă Foundation.
That same day, the children of the group went to the Saints Constantine and Helena Retirement Home in the municipality of Costeşti to sing Christmas carols to the elderly.

The children received gifts and many good wishes from His Eminence Father Ciprian.

Participation in the provincial traditions competition for seniors
Participation in the provincial traditional competition in Bătrâni, Mousaios, organized by the Special High School for the Visually Impaired in Buzău. From there, the Coroniţa group took the section trophy to the Guşă General Gymnasium in Spătaru.

Regional Festival: Preserving the Tradition of the Romanian People
The Regional Festival “Preserving the Tradition of the Romanian People” was held on July 17, 2022, now in its fourth year.
The festival took place in the Spătaru Forest, in the municipality of Costeşti. Approximately 300 students performed dances and songs on the stage set up in the forest. During the awards ceremony breaks, renowned artists from Buzău County performed on stage to delight the audience. The festival was sponsored by the Ştefan Guşă General Foundation.
June 3, 2022 – Members of the Coronita Ensemble musical group from Spătaru were invited to the festival held annually in Monteoru, Buzău County, known as the Monteoru Days.

On December 6, the children of the ensemble participated in the regional festival of Christmas carols “Colindam, colindam iarna”, held in Smeeni.
The children won prizes: in the Christmas carols section – the first prize and two more second prizes, and the customs and traditions section they won the first prize.

On July 13, with the support of the “General Stefan Gusa” Foundation, the third edition of the competition “Let’s preserve the tradition of the Romanian people” was organized in the Spataru forest. This year, 260 children from Buzau, Galati, and Bucharest counties participated.
June 2, 2019 – The children danced on stage in Bratilesti, Buzau county, where they won two first prizes.
June 1, 2019 – At the Tecuci National Festival “I love song and game”, the children of the ensemble won the trophy in the dance section.

We preserve the traditions of the Romanian people
In July, the 2nd edition of the popular music and dance competition “Sa pastram traditia poporului Romanian” was organized at Padurea Spataru, which is part of the homonymous project launched in the 2016-2017 school year, together with General Stefan Guza Foundation.
More than 200 children from different schools and ensembles of Buzau county were present: Ensemble “Vatra Glodenenilor” from Gl. Sarat, the Ensemble “Spiga di Grano” from Mihailesti, “Sanzienele” and the vocal group “Veselia” from Smeeni, the Liceo Merei, the Liceo Plaiul Nucului, the Ensemble “Muguri de Fir” from Braiesti, the Alexandru Marghiloman Culture Center”, Magura High School, Cilibia High School, Buzau Children’s Palace, Costesti High School and “General Stefan Gusa” High School, Spataru represented by the “Coronita” Ensemble.
The trophy in the 7-11 years category was won by the dancers of the “Coronita” ensemble, while the plaque went to the vocal group.
The festival was a real success, it was filmed by a representative of TV Buzau and had many views on Facebook.
With the help of the Foundation and the parents of the Coronita ensemble children, the woodland scene and venue were decorated for the holidays.

The producer of the show ‘I Came with Good Intentions’, Mr. Vasi Carabut, traveled to Spataru with a team from Favorit TV, to produce a show featuring the festival’s honorees.

The first competition in which they participated took place in Focsani as part of the educational project “Talented Young People”, as well as the competition “Childhood to the Rhythm of Dance”. The ensemble returned from Focsani with the trophy of the popular dance section.

On July 1, 2017, the Coronița Spătaru Ensemble was invited by the mayor of Brăiesti to perform on the stage located in the local forest, in honor of the celebration called “In the Meadow of the Lastaris”.
This was an occasion for joy and merriment shared with many local folk singers and the famous folk singer Laura Lavric as well as the mannerist Jean de la Craiova.
Despite the sultry heat, once again the children did very well, getting the audience to their feet.
23 June 2017 – The “Coronita” Ensemble was invited to participate in the eighth celebration of the days of the town of Monteoru, with the occasion to remember the 507 years since the first documentary attestation of the territory, the 132 years since the foundation of Monteoru Spa and 92 years of oil mine activity.

The Coronita Ensemble was invited to participate in the eighth celebration of the Monteoru Resort Days, on this occasion, commemorating 507 years from the first documentary evidence of the area, 132 years from the foundation of the Terme di Monteoru and 92 years of activity of the Terme petroleum. The boys of the Coronita Ensemble took the stage located on the sports field, together with numerous established local artists and numerous ensembles.
The children of the Ensemble also participated in the parade of more than 200 dancers held in honor of this event, accompanying the Fanfare of the 2nd Getica Buzău Division.
27 May 2017 – The “Coronita” Ensemble participated in the “Romanian Chicken” National Project, coordinated by the teaching staff of the “Ion Creanga” School in Buzau, during which the “I Love the Romanian Game” Festival-competition was held “.

Although numerous participants from the Buzău County Cultural Center and other cultural centers in the country, who have had several years of training in the field of dance, took the stage of the large hall of the Buzău County Council, the children of the Ensemble Coronita were awarded the Trophy for the best folk dance.

On May 14, 2017, the Spătaru ensemble “Coronița” participated in the folk music competition festival ” Cântul, jocul, voia bună/Ne-au adus azi împreună”, which was held in Brăiesti commune, Brătilești village. The ensemble had a beautiful debut, full of enthusiasm and emotion. The debut was a success as the children were awarded a well-deserved first place, both in the singing and folk dance sections.
In a purely Romanian and traditional environment, the children, dressed in folk costumes, sang and danced, bringing good humor to those present in the Brătilești Cultural House.
