Program

Organization of the commemoration of General Stefan Gușă at the Buzău garrison – military ceremonial, and at the church of the village of Spătaru – religious ceremonial, on the occasion of the anniversary of the date of death (March 28) and of the day of birth, and on December 22.
Elaboration of 25 writings on military history topics which will be recorded and sent to the broadcast promoted by the “General Stefan Gușă” Foundation at the radio station “Europa Nova” in the period September 2003 – February 2004.
On the occasion of Army Day, organization at the European University Drăgan of Lugoj of a symposium on the theme “Great personalities of the Romanians and the army”, with the participation of renowned historians, researchers, etc.
On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the Great Union of 1918, organization of a symposium on the theme “The army and the Union” to celebrate December 1, National Day of Romania.
Completion and printing of the volume Guerre et société en Europe, containing studies in French on military history topics. Launch and presentation of the volume through reviews published in the following specialized journals: “Dosarele istoriei”, “Revista de Istorie Militară”, “Document”, “Observatorul Militar” and “Națiunea”.
Launch and media presentation of the book Military Attachés Report…, Vol. III and preparation of Vol. IV.
Collection of documentation, selection of informative material and drafting of the volume The Calvary of Romanian Prisoners in the First World War.
Participation in the annual book fair “Gaudeamus” with its own stand of books published under the patronage of the Foundation.
Donation and sending of editorial novelties to the libraries of military units, to universities, research institutes, etc.
Organization by the Foundation of conferences on military history topics in the garrisons of Lugoj, Oradea, Cluj, Sibiu, Pitești, Curtea de Argeș, Câmpulung Muscel, Buzău, Tecuci, etc.
Completion of the documentary fund of the Foundation with new testimonies about General Gușă written by those who knew him and with whom he worked in various periods of his life.
Realization of a series of video interviews with various participants in the Second World War – generals, officers, knights of the Military Order “Mihai Viteazul”.
Organization together with the universities of Pitești and of Lugoj of the National annual session of scientific communications of the students of the faculties of history.
Drafting and publication of articles on the contribution of various personalities of Romania – belonging to the world of culture, art, science and political life – to the unfolding of particularly significant events of contemporary history.
Analysis and elaboration of proposals regarding requests for support of cultural or other activities addressed to the Foundation by various institutions or by private individuals.
Arrangement of the archive of the Foundation with filing and inventory of the respective documents.
Updating of the inventory of the assets of the Foundation.

Organization of the launch of the book Romanians in Europe and in the World. Testimonies for Eternity at the following institutions:

– Regional Library Argeș of Pitești – January 30, 2003.
– National Museum of History of Romania, on the occasion of the meeting of the National Union of Historians of Romania – February 10, 2003.
– Artillery regiment of the Tecuci garrison – July 25, 2003.
– Military Circle of the Câmpulung garrison, on the occasion of the symposium dedicated to Army Day – October 21, 2003.

Carrying out of the conference on the theme “Gheorghe Brătianu and the army” at the following institutions:

– Oradea garrison – May 29, 2003.
– “Mihai Viteazul” Armored Vehicles and Automotive Training School of Pitești – July 5, 2003.
– Artillery regiment of the Tecuci garrison.
– 2nd Operational Command of Buzău.

Presentation of all the books published under the patronage of the Foundation at the International Congress of Military History held in Bucharest in the period August 10 – 15, 2003.
Carrying out of the conference on the theme “The military physician Ștefan Odobleja seen by his contemporaries” at the Oradea garrison, on September 29, 2003.
Carrying out of the conference on the theme “The General Staff and the evolution of the Romanian Army in the period 1859 – 2000” at the artillery regiment of Tecuci, on October 10, 2003.
Presentation of the book Military Attachés Report…, Vol. III at the following institutions:

– Land Forces Academy of Sibiu – October 22, 2003.
– Military Circle of Cluj, on the occasion of the symposium dedicated to Army Day and organized by the 4th Operational Army Corps – October 23, 2003.
– Headquarters of the Municipality of Câmpulung, on the occasion of the annual session of scientific communications of the Municipal Museum of Câmpulung – October 17, 2003.
– University of Pitești, Faculty of History, Philosophy and Journalism, on the occasion of the symposium dedicated to the Great Union of 1918 – November 28, 2003.
– 2nd Operational Command of Buzău – October 9, 2003.

Documentation, selection and preparation of materials in order to edit the following works:

– Vol. IV of the series Military Attachés Report…;
– War and Society in Europe – volume of studies in French;
– The Calvary of Romanian Prisoners in the First World War.

Participation of the Foundation in the symposium dedicated to Romanian Army Day, held at the Military Circle of Câmpulung on October 21, 2003, with the conference “The Romanian Army in the First World War. Romanian-French collaboration”, and in the symposium organized on October 24 at the Mechanized Brigade of Oradea with the conference “The Romanian Army in the First World War. Collaboration with the French military mission led by General Berthelot”.
Elaboration and recording in Lugoj of 12 broadcasts later disseminated by “Radio Europa Nova”.
Realization of two glass showcases for the exhibition of books published under the patronage of the Foundation to be organized at the “Mihai Viteazul” Armored Vehicles and Automotive Training School of Pitești.
On the occasion of Tank Troops Day, arrangement and inauguration at the Military Tank School of Pitești of the exhibition of books published with the support of the Foundation.
Free distribution of the following books:

– Military Attachés Report…, Vol. III to the participants at the Scientific Session organized by the Museum of Vrancea of Focșani.
– Romanians in Europe and in the World. Testimonies for Eternity – 40 copies to the members of the National Union of Reserve and Retired Military Personnel.
– Military Attachés Report…, Vol. II – 200 copies to the libraries of military units.

Promotion through the media of the books published by the Foundation, as follows:
