Sunday, March 3, 2013, in the city of Bistrita, the closing ceremony of the winter sports and applied military competitions of the Ministry of National Defence for the training units took place. On this occasion the Diplomas and the Prizes of the “General Stefan Gusa” Foundation, in the amount of 1500 lei, were delivered to the athletes ranked in first place in the three competitions: Corporal Denis SERBAN; Corporal Marius Costiug and corporal Ioan Hagiu.

Thursday, June 13, 2013, on the occasion of Ascension Day-Heroes’ Day, the “General Ştefan Guşă” Foundation, in collaboration with the military garrison of Buzău – Command of the 2nd infantry division “Getica”, organized a military and religious ceremony with the guard and the military band, with the laying of wreaths at the monument and the tomb of general Ştefan Guşă situated in the courtyard of the church founded in the village Spătaru, commune of Costeşti. The following laid wreaths: a delegation of the family and of the General Ştefan Guşă Foundation – Mrs. Colonel Marian Popescu, Lt. Alexandru Cristian, Eng. Andrei Cristian and Costin Vrabie – as well as the Command of the 2nd Infantry Division “Getica”, the Division of the Cult of Heroes, the Prefecture of Buzau County, the County Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the Police Inspectorate of Buzau, the Municipality and General School of the Commune of Costesti.

Between June 30 and July 5, 2013 the trip of the group of military high school students, beneficiaries of the prize “Trip to Italy” of the “General Ştefan Guşă” Foundation took place. The group was formed by the students: sergeant STĂNESCU Denis-Grigore of the College “Mihai Viteazul”; COCÎRLEA Mădălin-Marius of the College “Dimitrie Cantemir” and RUSU Cosmin-Viorel of the College “Ştefan cel Mare”. The leader of the group, Prof. Carmen-Cecilia ROMAN. Cultural and tourist objectives of the cities of Milan, Venice and Florence were visited.
26 July – 31 July 2013 – The “General Ştefan Guşă” Foundation has awarded this year DIPLOMAS OF EXCELLENCE and money PRIZES to the class leaders of the 2013 graduation class “Aurel Vlaicu 100” of the military educational institutions of the Ministry of National Defence.

The “General Ştefan Guşă” Foundation awarded DIPLOMAS of EXCELLENCE and money PRIZES to the leaders of the 2013 diploma program “Aurel Vlaicu 100” of the military educational institutions of the Ministry of National Defence.
They received Diplomas and Prizes for a total value of 6.600,00 lei: the head of the promotion of the Military Technical Academy; sergeant eng. Nicolae-Valentin ROŞIA, head of the promotion of the Land Forces Academy “Nicolae Bălcescu”; Slt Adrian-Bogdan BARBU, head of the promotion of the Aeronautics Academy “Henri Coandă” Slt Angela-Karina AVĂDĂNEI and Ensign eng. Andra-Teodora FRĂNCU, the head of the promotion of the Naval Academy “Mircea cel Bătrân”.
Diplomas and honours in the amount of 800 lei each were conferred to the heads of promotion, military squad leaders and non-commissioned officers of the profile schools of the Armed Forces as follows: MM cls V-a Alexandru-Gabriei ILIE, head of the promotion of the Military School of Military Heads and Non-Commissioned Officers of the Land Forces “Bessarabia I”; MM cls. 5th Nicoleta GRAMA, person responsible for the diploma of the Military School of the Military Majors and Non-Commissioned Officers of the Air Force “Traian Vuia” and MM Class V Georgiana GHEORGHE, person responsible for the diploma of the Military School of the Military Majors of the Naval Forces “Admiral Ion Murgescu”.
The above-mentioned recognitions were conferred on the occasion of the graduation ceremonies held on July 26, 27, 31 and August 1 of this year, in the garrisons of residence, by generals and reserve officers, former colleagues and close collaborators of general Ştefan Guşă: Admiral Dorin Dănilă (Constanza), general Niculae Spiroiu (Military Technical Academy and garrison of Pitesti), colonel Dr Doina MURESAN and Nicolae Mitu of the General Staff of the Land Forces (Sibiu).

On September 16, 2013 the “General Ştefan Guşă” Foundation awarded the Scientific Research Prize in the amount of 1.500 lei to Captain Cdr Laurenţiu POPESCU of the National Defence University “Carol I” for the document on the influence of the use of drones in military operations.

On October 25, 2013, at 12:30, during the events to celebrate Romanian Army Day 2013, a delegation of the “General Ştefan Guşă” Foundation, composed of General Niculae Spiroiu and Lieutenant Alexandru Cristian, laid a wreath at the Heroes’ Monument located on the esplanade of the National Defence University “Carol I”.

According to the projects in which the “General Ştefan Gușă” Foundation traditionally collaborates with the “Maresal Alexandru Averescu” Foundation, the “History competition for pupils and students of Buzău county” was organized in kind with 69 volumes of book works with historical and literary themes on the occasion of the National Day.

According to an already traditional project, on December 20, on the occasion of Christmas, the Association for the prevention of school abandonment “Saint Archdeacon Ştefan” of the parish of Ghencea was sponsored in kind, with supplies, sweets and food products for a value of 5.000,00 lei. The beneficiaries are 52 children and adolescents.

On December 22 there took place the military and religious ceremony at the foundation of general Ştefan Guşă in the village of Spătaru, in which participated the Foundation, the family, the prefect of the county, the commander of the garrison of Buzău, the police inspectorate, the SRI, the Association “Cult of Heroes”, the parties of the USL and of the Popular Party, the Municipality of Costesti and the School of Spataru laid wreaths of flowers. On this occasion the students of the General School of the village received from the Foundation packages with provisions, sweets and fruit. The Christmas packages (300) were also received by the soldiers of the guard, the band and the inhabitants of the village who participated in the ceremony.
