    The respective activities may take place in the garrisons of Bucharest, Sibiu, Cluj, Oradea, Lugoj, Ploiesti, Buzau, Pitesti, Campulung, etc.
  9. Systematic promotion through the press (“Redesteptarea”), radio and television (Radio Nova FM Lugoj and Ten TV) of the books published by the Foundation.
  10. Translation into Romanian and edition of books on various themes of military history, signed by foreign authors (French, German, Italian, etc.). The book War in the Middle Ages by the French author Philippe Contamine will be translated.

1. The Foundation supported the edition of the work The calvary of Romanian prisoners in the First World War. Documentary evidence, vol. I and II, Bucharest, 2006 – “Europa Nova” Publishing House, a volume which bears testimony to the tribute paid with life by Romanians who had the misfortune to fall into the hands of the enemy and were subjected to extermination treatments.

2. Organization of the military and religious ceremonial at the church of the village of Spataru – commemoration general Stefan Gusa.

3. Sponsorship of the repair and restructuring works carried out at the Retirement Home of Magura, in Bacau County.

4. Donation of stationery articles and Christmas packages to the children of the kindergarten and of the school of Spataru.

  1. Organization of the commemoration of General Stefan Gușă at the Buzău garrison – military ceremonial, and at the church of the village of Spătaru – religious ceremonial, on the occasion of the anniversary of the date of death (March 28) and of the day of birth, and on December 22.
  2. Presentation within the broadcast “The Army Hour “ of Radio Romania of a section dedicated to personalities of the Romanian Army, and to particularly significant moments of its history.
  3. Edition under the patronage of the Foundation of the following works grouped by collections or series:
    1. External military relations of Romania in the 20th century;
    2. Military diplomacy and military diplomats;
    3. Illustrious personalities of the Romanian Army;
    4. Command structures of the modern Romanian Army.
  4. Realization of partnerships between the “General Stefan Gusa” Foundation and various universities, military circles, associations of war veterans, and unions of reserve and retired military personnel, in order to cooperate in the realization of activities such as the organization of conferences, the presentation of books, etc.
  5. Systematic promotion in the media of the books published under the patronage of the Foundation.
  6. Continuation of the broadcast “Culture, army and society – Historical kaleidoscope” of Radio “Europa Nova” of Lugoj.
  7. Presentation at the annual book fair, “Gaudeamus”, of its own stand of works published under the patronage of the Foundation.
  8. Donation and sending of editorial novelties to the libraries of military units, to universities, research institutes, etc.
  9. Organization by the Foundation of conferences on military history topics in the garrisons of Lugoj, Oradea, Cluj, Sibiu, Pitesti, Curtea de Arges, Campulung Muscel, Buzau, Tecuci, etc.
  10. Completion of the documentary fund of the Foundation with new testimonies on General Gusa written by those who knew him and with whom he worked in various periods of his life.
  11. Analysis and elaboration of proposals regarding requests for promotion of cultural or other activities addressed to the Foundation by various institutions or by private individuals.
  12. Translation into other languages and printing under the patronage of the Foundation of the books already published.
  13. Arrangement of the archive of the Foundation with filing and inventory of the respective documents.

  3. On September 15, 2005, the Foundation donated stationery articles and toys to the school and to the kindergarten “General Stefan Gusa”.

  2. Publication of a volume of documents entitled 1916 – 1918. Romania as seen by the French general H.M. Berthelot, dedicated to the French Military Mission in Romania, led by general Berthelot.
  3. Organization of exhibitions with stands of books published under the patronage of the Foundation, on the occasion of fairs, symposium, sessions of scientific communications, etc.
  4. Launch of the volume Guerre et société en Europe in Paris and, subsequently, in Romania, with prior media coverage.
  5. Organization of the commemorative ceremonials at the monument of general Gusa located in the courtyard of the church of Spataru (March 28 and December 22).

  7. Granting of a scholarship abroad to a student of a military Academy.

  13. Edition under the patronage of the Foundation of the 1st volume of the Military Encyclopedic Dictionary elaborated by a collective of the Land Forces Academy.
  14. Launch of the volume Condemned to truth, a documentary book on the activity of general Gusa during the month of December 1989.

1. On the date of September 20, 2004, inauguration of a school and of a kindergarten in the native village of general Gusa. Built thanks to the support of the Foundation, these buildings represent an investment for the future placed at the service of education, perhaps the most beautiful gift made to the children and to the entire community of Spataru in the name of the military Stefan Gusa.
The children will therefore be able to benefit from bright and functional premises, provided with everything necessary for a civil and modern teaching. The classrooms, the teachers’ room, the library, the sports field and the medical office were arranged with great care, in the desire to offer study conditions that few schools boast.

  1. Organization of the commemoration of General Stefan Gușă at the Buzău garrison – military ceremonial, and at the church of the village of Spătaru – religious ceremonial, on the occasion of the anniversary of the date of death (March 28) and of the day of birth, and on December 22.
  2. Initiation of procedures aimed at obtaining the necessary approvals for the establishment and awarding of a diploma and of a prize “General Stefan Gușă” to the graduate with highest marks of the “Mihai Viteazul” Armored Vehicles and Automotive Training School of Pitești.
  3. Completion of the documentary fund of the Foundation with testimonies, photographs, video images regarding the life and activity of General Gușă. Organization of the archive of the Foundation.
  4. Financial support to the “Mihai Viteazul” Armored Vehicles and Automotive Training School of Pitești for the completion of the arrangement of the protocol hall (finalization of the realization and installation of honor plaques bearing the names of the graduates with highest marks and of the commanders of the school).
  5. Organization together with the universities of Pitești and Lugoj of the National annual session of scientific communications of the students of the faculties of history.
  6. Systematic promotion in newspapers and journals (“Redeșteptarea”, “Națiunea”, “Observatorul Militar”, etc.) of the books published under the patronage of the Foundation, and their presentation by local or national broadcasters.
  7. Promotion through the media (TVR, Radio Romania Actualități, Ten TV, etc.) of the scientific manifestations carried out in cooperation with other higher education institutions.
  8. Elaboration and printing in French of the collection of historical texts entitled New Perspectives in Military Historiography, coordinated by André Corvisier, President of the International Commission of Military History and emeritus professor at the Sorbonne University of Paris.
  9. Elaboration and printing of the 2nd volume of the work Military Attachés Report… regarding the period 1930–1938. Publication of reviews of the writings published or re-edited under the patronage of the Foundation.
  10. Organization of the launch of the volumes published with the support of the Foundation.
  11. Drafting and publication of articles on the contribution of various personalities of Romania – belonging to the world of culture, art, science and political life – to the unfolding of particularly significant events of contemporary history.
  12. Continuation of the distribution, in the form of donation, to Romanian and foreign military units and cultural institutions, of the books published under the patronage of the Foundation.
  13. Elaboration of a guide for the realization of interviews with officers and generals decorated with the Military Order “Mihai Viteazul”, as well as with war veterans.
  14. Establishment of a documentary fund containing audio and video testimonies obtained by interviewing war veterans on the theme “Testimonies from the trenches of the Second World War”.
  15. Analysis and elaboration of proposals regarding requests for support of cultural or other activities, addressed to the Foundation by various institutions or by private individuals.
  16. Arrangement of the archive of the Foundation with filing and inventory of the respective documents.
  17. Updating of the inventory of the assets of the Foundation.
  1. In January 2002 the conference hall “General Ștefan Gușă” of the General Staff of the Land Forces was equipped with a simultaneous translation system with 28 seats, and with a Philips video projector.
  2. In the presence of representatives of the General Staff of the Land Forces, a bronze bust of General Stefan Gușă was donated to the “Mihai Viteazul” Armored Vehicles and Automotive Training School of Pitești, to be placed in the protocol hall. The Foundation also donated furniture and other objects necessary for equipping the hall. The marble honor plaques bearing the names of the graduates with highest marks and of the commanders of the School, from its creation until today, were also redone.
  1. Collaboration in the organization of the National session of scientific communications of the students of the Faculty of History of Pitești.
  2. In September 2002 a translation system with 12 seats was donated, necessary to the military unit operating in the former premises of the General Staff.

  1. November 13, 2002 – inauguration ceremony of the new headquarters Butan Gas International Lugoj which also hosts the “General Stefan Gușă” Foundation.
  1. On November 25, 2002, the volume Romanians in Europe and in the World. Testimonies for Eternity was launched at the National Military Circle (view image)
  1. Preparation of materials on historical themes to be presented during the periodic broadcast “Historical Kaleidoscope” of the radio station “Europa Nova”.
  2. On November 29, 2002, on the occasion of the Book Fair “Gaudeamus”, the two volumes dedicated to the military diplomats and to their activity aimed at defending the interests of interwar Romania were launched.
  3. The Foundation participated in the conference entitled “Trends in the development of cybernetics in the 3rd millennium”, organized at Băile Felix by the “Ștefan Odobleja” Academy of Cybernetics, where it presented a study dedicated to the way in which the military physician Ștefan Odobleja was perceived by his contemporaries.

  1. Completion of the documentary fund of the Foundation with testimonies, photographs, video images regarding the life and activity of General Gușă. Organization of the archive of the Foundation.
  2.   1. In January, 200 copies of the work Priests in the Trenches. 1941–1944 – authors: Colonel Gheorghe Nicolescu, Prof. Gheorghe Andreescu and Dr. Andrei Nicolescu – were donated to the military units of the Pitești garrison, in order to complete the book collections of their libraries.

  1. Publication of the review of the work Priests Fighting for the Great Union, 1916–1919, published by the “General Stefan Gușă” Foundation, in “Observatorul Militar”, Year XII, No. 41 (564).
  2. In February, 80 copies of the work Priests Fighting for the Great Union, 1916–1919, and 100 copies of the volume The Romanian Army from the Ultimatum to the Dictate were donated to the military units of the Pitești garrison.
  3. Donation of carpeting and 30 chairs for the parishioners to the church of Spătaru, ensuring transport and installation.
  4. Within the seminar on the theme “The Army and the Churches. Tradition and actuality at the end of the millennium”, organized in October by the Institute of Political Studies for Defence and Military History, the Land Forces Academy, the Romanian Commission of Military History, and the Military History Review, the works Priests in the Trenches. 1941–1945 and Priests Fighting for the Great Union. 1916–1919 were launched, published by the “General Stefan Gușă” Foundation (50 copies of each distributed free of charge). Place of event: Military Circle of Sibiu. Participants: researchers, military personnel, students of the Land Forces Academy and of the Faculty of Theology of Sibiu, military and civilian priests.
  5. Within the symposium “Festung Ploiești in Romanian and German vision”, held in November at the Museum of History and Archaeology of Prahova, the work Romanian–German Military Relations, 1939–1944 was launched, published by the “General Stefan Gușă” Foundation (50 copies distributed free of charge). Various representatives of the Prefecture of Prahova, of the Ministry of the Interior, and of the Civil Protection Command, the commander of the Ploiești garrison, researchers, museographers, professors, students and military personnel took part in the event. The presentation of the book was made by Prof. Dr. Valeriu Florin Dobrinescu, Commendatore Dr. Gavril Preda and Col. PhD candidate Gheorghe Nicolescu.
  6. Within the annual scientific session of the Regional Museum of Argeș, the works Romanian–German Military Relations, 1939–1944, The Romanian Army from the Ultimatum to the Dictate. Year 1940, and Priests Fighting for the Great Union, 1916–1919 were launched (30 copies of each distributed free of charge). The following took part: the prefect of Argeș County, the mayor of the municipality of Pitești, various representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs, of the Directorate for Culture, Religious Affairs and Cultural Heritage of Argeș, researchers, professors, museographers, students and pupils. The book was presented by Col. PhD candidate Gheorghe Nicolescu.

  2. Completion of the documentary fund of the Foundation with testimonies, photographs and video images regarding the life and activity of General Stefan Gușă.
  3.   3. Commissioning and placement on the façade of the church of the village of Spătaru of a single Murano glass mosaic depicting Saint Stephen the Martyr, killed by stoning while praying for his unaware killers.
  4. Commissioning and donation to the church of Spătaru of a marble monument (cross) in honor of the heroes of the village who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the Romanian people during the two World Wars.
  5. Organization of the ceremony of inauguration of the monuments simultaneously with the consecration of the church to Saint Stephen.
  6.     Inauguration of the funerary monument (complex) – the marble cross of the tomb and the bust of Lieutenant General Stefan Gușă. The monument, made of Carrara marble in Pietrasanta, is the work of Master Mario Galeotti.
